"Earn A Full-time Income From Part-time Poetry!"
"Whether You're A Poet Or Not!"
All I can do is tell you my story, share some thoughts from people who are already using this e-book that I have compiled and let you decide for yourself if it will be of benefit to you. As well as 'walking the talk' as they say, I have gathered information, ideas, tips and how-to's from fellow poets who are doing the same. Most are earning a comfortable living from their poetry. They're each doing what they love (and getting paid for it). Wouldn't you like to join them?
I wish I'd had access to such a book when I was starting out. It would have been great to have a constant supply of ideas and information to help me along the way. Before I tell you about the book, let me tell you a little about me… I started writing poetry just five years ago. I actually 'fell into it' by accident. I was at a folk festival looking for somewhere to have breakfast when I noticed a sign saying 'Poets Breakfast' I thought, I'll just eat a quick breakfast and head off to see what else I could find. At the time, I wasn't a big fan of poetry. Hey, this was not the boring stuff they'd dished up to us at school. (Do you remember having to learn poems 'by-heart' or take turns around the classroom reciting one line at a time!) Not this lot! It was interesting, fresh, sometimes sad, but mostly fun. I was instantly hooked! Every morning I sat glued to my seat to hear what these poets, both experienced and novice had to share. After the third breakfast, I went back to my tent and wrote my first 'humorous' poem. It then took me another year to find the courage to perform it, along with a couple of others I had written. It was a knee-trembling experience I can tell you. Not knowing if anyone would find my poetry at all funny. Luckily for me, I was well received (and even encouraged by the more 'seasoned' performers) and I've been writing and performing ever since. It's been and continues to be an interesting journey. The learning curve has been a bit steep at times and I've made my share of mistakes (a couple of whoppers too). I'm not saying that I have nothing more to learn. I aim to learn something new every day from those who have taken their poetry further than
me. I love becoming involved locally as well and have run poetry events in our small town that, to my delight have been sell-outs! What's more, the income that I earn through poetry, now enables my husband and I to be full-time parents to our pre-school aged daughter and to enjoy a truly relaxed lifestyle. We have the freedom to work when we want to, travel when the urge takes us and plan our work around our life (instead of having to plan our life around our work). My aim is not to make a fortune, (I already have a lifestyle that I love), it is to share this information with other poets who may be like I was; wanting to earn a little bit of extra money to contribute to the household. a 'lot' and that I would become the main bread-winner of the family! It's a great relief to be able to do what I enjoy and not have to worry about the money. You may already be in that position…good on you! But for most, poetry is a hobby that brings great pleasure and personal satisfaction…..only AFTER your work is done. Wouldn't it be great to have the freedom to write, to perform or to promote poetry (whatever is your passion), whenever you wanted to, without the limitation of time? I can show you how. You're fortunate to be in a better position that I was five years ago. I had to learn it all myself. There was no manual or 'how-to' book when I started out (or if there was, I didn't know about it!). Throughout the book, you'll find wonderful ideas from poets who are already earning a substantial income from their work. Please take advantage of our Free Mini-Course on "How You Can Make Money From Poetry!" At this point, I'll stop and let some of the people who are already benefiting from these ideas have their say. These are excerpts from letters emailed to me and I thank their writers for the permission to print them. "I loved the chapter on performing. I've always wanted to stand up and present my work, but was unsure how I'd be received. With your encouraging words, I'm now a regular performer at our poetry-reading sessions and am starting to gain paid work at business clubs (thanks for that idea too). My ego is enjoying the attention
and my wallet is enjoying the extra cash! Thanks." - Stuart Weir "Until I read your book, I'd never considered submitting my poetry for greeting cards. I guess I just thought that the people who wrote them were full-time employees of the card companies or something. Last month I decided to give it a go and I sent off a submission to three card companies. Guess what? One came back 'very interested…please send more', another returned my poems with some suggestions for improvements and I'm personally meeting with the artistic director of the third one tomorrow. I can't begin to tell you how grateful I am. It's like a door has been opened to a whole new world. I'm so excited. Must go now and put some more greetings together…see you in the card shop!" - Megan Crowther "Please find enclosed a copy of my first book of poetry by way of thanks. After reading the tips on 'How to Get Published' in your book, I thought… "I can do that", so I did! Now (with a lot of perseverance), I'm in print! The book is selling well, I'm out there promoting it like crazy and am once
again referring to your tips as I go. Thanks again and I'll be recommending your book to every poet I meet!" - Pamela Bourke "Your book has been a godsend. I'm a pensioner, having been forced to retire due to injury. I was going crazy staring at four walls, when one day my son arrived with a copy of your book that he'd printed from your website. He gave it to me, saying "I think there might be something in here for you". As soon as I started reading, I knew he was right. You see, I have a passion for writing romantic poetry and have a whole box full. With my son's help, we sorted through them, did up some 'presentation packs' and sent the best ones off to about twenty targeted magazines. It took time, but it was great to have some excitement in my life and a goal to aim for. Well, the good news is, three of my poems were published, one magazine has referred me to a card company who want to now publish some of my work and yet another editor is interested in having me as a regular (paid) contributor. Thank you so much for helping one (not so) old man gain some meaning, purpose and self-esteem once more. I wish you
well." - Harry Wohlman Can you see why I get excited! Most commonly, I'm finding many people who start off by chasing the dollars and end up being rewarded by much greater riches than money could ever buy. I guess by now, you want to know a little bit about "Earn a Full-time Income With Part-Time Poetry!" Well, as I mentioned earlier, the ideas I've gathered for the e-book have come from personal experience. They are 'tried and true' as they say. They are not 'new' ideas and certainly not 'get-rich-quick' ones. They simply work…if YOU do! Here's a taste of what "Earn a Full-time Income With Part-Time Poetry!" has to offer. You'll find ideas that will help you to:
And that's just the tip of the iceberg. "Earn a Full-time Income With Part-Time Poetry!" goes in depth into all these topics and more (oops…starting to sound like a sales letter…sorry). I just get so excited. Perhaps the introduction to the book will help explain it a little better… INTRODUCTION Throughout the world there are thousands, no tens of thousands of frustrated poets. Why? As a poet myself, I can only guess at an answer. Whilst many poets write purely for the love of writing, to put their thoughts out onto paper, many more long to share their work with others. So often we keep our talents hidden away. I believe this is a most selfish act, as poetry can teach, heal and bring joy to others. So if you wish to remain a 'closet poet', then read no further. Although a poet, I do not consider myself a writer, so please, if you're looking for a literary masterpiece, I'm afraid you'll be disappointed. If you look hard for typos and grammatical errors, then you're certain to unearth a few. (Feel free to email them to me for correction!) I want to reach as broad a cross-section of people as possible, so I've written this e-book in easy-to-understand language. My intention is simply to have you take that first (or next) step in whatever direction you're choosing to express yourself. Perhaps you've been writing poetry for years and don't know what to do with it all. Maybe you have a desire to stand in front of people and recite your poetry to an appreciative audience, or you might be a lover of poetry who enjoys working with other poets and their material. I have ideas that will help you move forward. As well, I've gathered some of the best information available on the internet. Do your own research, find your niche and go for it! I've spoken with many people who are earning a very comfortable living through poetry. Here's some of the benefits they've gained in choosing to do so.
If all you're looking for is the motivation to get going, here's a poem that I have stuck to my wall in front of me. It helps me realise that for things to be different in my life…I have to be different. Perhaps it will strike a chord with you too. CHOOSE You can walk in valleys You can look through windows You can lie there watching You can sit in the shadows And if you want the secret Now here's the part that's unfamiliar territory. The part where I'm supposed to 'close the sale'. Heck, all I can do is present what I have to offer. If you like it…buy it. If you don't…don't. Pretty simple. The asking price for the "Earn a Full-time Income With Part-Time Poetry!" is just a modest $7.00 (US
Dollars). I know one poet who downloaded the book, picked up one idea and contacted his local newspaper who ran the story he sent them. By the end of the week he had people calling to book him to perform his poetry at their function. As a special introductory offer, when you invest in FREE Bonus
