This poem was written with weapons for our Lord in mind. It also won a poet of the year award.

An Axe and Two Thirty Eights

Hey everybody, let's get up and go
Let's grab our weapons and put on a show
Let's see some people before it's too late
Armed with our Axe and Two Thirty Eights

Let's use these weapons and hit them with force
To keep those people on the proper course
If we don't do it now, it may be too late
Let's grab our Axe and our Two Thirty Eights

Let's go into homes and all through the land
Let's meet the people with our weapon in hand
We have to be quick before it's too late
Let's grab our Axe and our Two Thirty Eights

They'll see us comin' and try to run
Sinners don't like to be under the gun
But we have the power and it is our fate
We have an Axe and Two Thirty Eights

They'll thank us for it on some distant day
And for the weapons we used along the way
And when we enter those bright Golden Gates
We'll thank God for Acts-2:38
