Introduction

This poem portrays the feelings of a webmaster who has lost his cherished homepage guestbook to the riptide of the internet.

Elegy For A Guestbook

I used to have a guestbook
Where anyone could see
The many rows of compliments
My friends had left for me

As months flew quickly past us
My guestbook still lived on
Until one awful day when
I discovered it was gone

I then deduced its demise
The murderer was me!
My guestbook was a victim to
Its master's own delete key
