I
find great comfort in my small bedroom
of plum-colored walls with lavender trim.
On my drapery, large cabbage roses bloom.
All decorating was done on a whim.
My own hand-sketched artwork is on display
and fanciful knick-knacks adorn the shelf.
A Victorian bed with a duvet
is where I am most at ease with myself.
If I'm feeling blue, my pets are all here
to cuddle, snuggle and entertain me.
Two puppies, two kittens -- all of them dear,
they sleep at my feet so contentedly.
But,
alas! There's no man to share my bed --
Perhaps I should paint the walls beige, instead?
