I've got a busted 'G' string,
and a broken heart.
When I heard those words,
I almost fell apart.
I wish I'd writ that!
But I never could spell...
only ... chat.
Putting words together
is as easy as pie.
But they have to 'live' together ...
or they ... die.
Ugly duckling girls like me.
I knew what she meant.
I didn't really care,
about the hours she'd spent.
Or did she,
did it really take her time
to make the words so meaningful
and come out in rhyme.
I wish I'd writ that!
It's what I'm always saying
But I never went to school
I stayed in bed just... laying.
While the rest were practicing
doing what they oughta.
While I was in dreamland
or with someone's daughter.
I never did a thing about my poems or song
I just layed there dreaming of
how 'they' done me wrong.
There's so many things, that I've done and I've seen
I've got stuff to write about, it's not all obscene.
But I never listened when they showed me how
How to get it out, it didn't work somehow.
I suppose I'll just keep dreaming
yeh, that's what I'll do and
all this intelectual stuff...
... I'll leave it up to you
