(Give or take a mile)
Me dad, 'e were
A temple Priest
And, every day
On *Scarab we'd feast
And
then, one day
The Pharaoh died
So they searched
For a replacement
Far and wide
'Part man, Part God'
The advert said
Own Chariot an advantage
Contact *Amenhotep
Well
me Pa
Says "that's the job for me"
A Pharaoh's what
I want to be
And, though it took
A little while
'e became the ruler
of the Nile!
Since
then, me life
As been real grand
We're worshipped
Throughout the land
And Pa's really 'appy
With 'is job
Each week 'e takes 'ome
50 bob!
And
now we live
In local Palace
Drinking wine
From Golden Chalice
And granma's found
Another man
A nice bloke called
*Tutankhamon
The
wedding was a
Grand affair
Everyone who was anyone
Was there
Cousin *Osiris
From 'downstairs'
*Hathor came
And offered prayers
*Seth
and *Horus
Popped on by
But, as usual
They didn't see
Eye-to-eye
And an argument
Broke out again
Then *Re buggered off
And it started to rain
Still,
the wedding
Went ahead none the less
And a great time was
Had by all (even *Bes!)
And we celebrated
All through the night
'Til Seth finally
Won the fight
Then,
off to bed
We all went
Leaving all the guests
Content
But, in the morning
Well, bugger me
We'd lost the throne
To *Mark Anthony!

*Thebes - One of the Main Egyptian Cities (Capital of Upper Egypt)
*Tutankhamon - Pharaoh
*Scarab - Sacred Ancient Dung Beetle
