Introduction

Ever looked in the mirror and wondered who is the oldie looking back?......Good grief there's an old person looking at me!

I am part of a craft forum, and people often submit request for poems to go with gifts. This was done for a brother's fortieth birthday party. The party favours were to be small mirrors and she wanted a poem to go with them.

The Mirror For Him

I look in the mirror, and what do I see?
Good Grief! there's an old person looking at me!

It's not me in there, I'm quite sure it's not,
An old man has snuck in and taken my spot!

I'm much younger than him, who is looking within,
How rude can he be to pretend that he's me?

I shall leave him in there, I'm much too young to care,
I'll just pack him away till I grow old one day.
