VOICES IN MY HEAD

From his book ' Thanks for Coming'
On a bus bound for Toowoomba
I was tryin to have a sleep
I was nicely into dreamland after countin forty sheep
But my dreams soon turned to nightmares,
It was more than I could bear
I could hear this evil chanting goin Yesss, yeahss, yeah!
I eventually woke up but still
the voice was there
It was in the seat behind me goin Yesss, yeahss, yeah!
I couldnt bloody help it, I had to turn around
And identify the creature that made this wretched sound.
I quickly snuck a peek, cause
it isnt nice to stare
And there it was! There sat the demon goin Yesss, yeahss,
yeah!
The anti-Christ had taken on an elderly ladys form
And with this Yesss, yeahss, yeah! she was talkin up
a storm.
A woman sat beside her but she
didnt seem to care,
Her senses were immune to this Yesss, yeahss, yeah!
No matter what she said the reply remained the same
And this Yesss, yeahss, yeah!, it was chewin out me
brain.
But my prayers were finally answered,
for as the bus pulled into Miles
The voice of my tormentor went driftin down the aisle.
Yesss, yeahss, yeah! would torture me no more,
I screamed Good bloody riddance! as the driver slammed the
door.
I changed buses at Toowoomba,
no more voices to annoy me,
I had beaten satans plot to sit behind me and destroy me,
I snuggled in me seat, prepared to slumber through the night
Then I heard this bloke beside me goin Riiiight, riiight,
right!
